Descripción: Hierba monoica, anual, indumento estrellado-pubescente. Hojas alternas, largamente pecioladas, limbo subromboideo, entero o sinuado. Inflorescencias racemosas o paniculiformes, terminales. Flores unisexuales, actinomorfas. Flores masculinas en la parte superior de la inflorescencia, con 5 sépalos soldados en la base, 5 pétalos amarillentos, 9-10 estambres. Flores femeninas con perianto simple de 10 piezas casi libres. Gineceo tricarpelar. Fruto cápsula con escamas peltadas. Semillas muricadas.
